My Spiritual Life

I have had an exciting spiritual life. Triggered by my parents as a youngster, it grew with my husband’s support and flourished in the presence of my friend-mentor, Om Swami. Last but never least, the care for my son drove me to transform myself.

Before I share a glimpse of my spiritual journey with you, I take this opportunity to express my gratitude to these lovely souls who have helped me along the way.

My Childhood

My parents began my classical and devotional music training when I was in kindergarten.

Of my own interest, I started meditating in Sri Shirdi Baba’s temple and grasped the essence of Swami Vivekananda’s works in middle school.

Soon, I was enrolled in Bala Vihar scriptural classes on Sanatana Dharma. These helped me grasp the essence of this faith.

At one point, I was exposed to bhajans and selfless service through Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s organization.

Youth Experiences

My English language skills were developed in a Christian high school. My time here also taught me that all religions lead to the same Ultimate Source.

As a teen, I experienced Bhaava Samadhi, deep absorption due to Bhakti, as my family sang the Sri Chakra Raja song in Sri Lalita Devi’s temple.

During undergrad, I interacted with the monks of Chinmaya Mission. Under Swami Krishnatmananda‘s guidance, I performed my first Gayatri Yagna.

Phase 1: Self-Improvement & Spiritual Awakening

2011—My spiritual journey paused for a while before it restarted in 2011, thanks to the support of my husband, who has been a blessing in my life.

2012—Another blessing, my friend-mentor Om Swami, entered my life as a catalyst of change. My focus shifted to Seva or selfless community service, meditation, and mantra chanting.

2013—Through self-improvement and self-healing, I decluttered my life. This included letting toxic people go, fighting depression, working on emotional healing, rebuilding my physical health, etc.

2014—Practiced Zen to experience a Spiritual Awakening, maintaining a high degree of mindfulness.

Phase 2: Brahmacharya or Divine Conduct

2015—Soon, I started my intense spiritual pursuit via Sanatana Dharma. During meditation, I had an inner vision of Adi Shakti, which began a chain of experiences that led to my spiritual truth.

2016—I had a vivid dream of receiving white clothes and the name Sushree Aveksha Om. This was a turning point from which my dreams began to guide me on my spiritual path.

2017—I strived towards Brahmacharya, upholding divine conduct. I deleted all my social media accounts and stopped socializing, which gave me the time to progress rapidly.

Phase 3: Sri Vidya Sadhana

2018—In another dreamy experience, I received black clothes and the title Bhairavi Sri Devi Om. This signified initiation into Sri Vidya Tantra, after which I perceived this universe as Divine Energy, “heard” the Anahata Nada, and had a divine vision of Shiva-Shakti’s dancing forms.

2019—My friend-mentor Om Swami blessed a Sri Chakra Yantra I customized, and I started my Sri Vidya Sadhana. At one point, I had a vivid dream of Sri Devi as Lakshmi walking into my home.

2020—Pursuing Sri Vidya with vigor, I had a dream of Sri Maha Kali and a profound experience merging into Sri Lalita Devi during a Nava Durga Sadhana.

2021—My Gayatri Sadhana also ended with a dream of union with Sri Gayatri Devi. As I persisted with my Sri Vidya Sadhana, I felt my entire existence had merged into Sri, The Divine Feminine.

2022—Finally, I experienced Yogic Samadhi, absorption into Divine Energy. At this point, I had risen above my spiritual aspirations, which brought fulfillment. My spiritual journey felt complete, but I went through and completed my Sri Vidya Sadhana for closure.

Phase 4: Sannyasi Non-Monk

2023—Guided by intuition, I performed Manasik Viraja Homam, an ancient ritual to accept Sannyasa without a guru. I became a Sannyasi Non-monk who lives life like a Stitha Pragna or Zen mindset of being established in wisdom. Yet again, I had a dream with the title Sadhvi Sri Devi Om.

2024—I’m now a joyful, peaceful person whose mind has gone beyond labels, titles, and identity. Thanks to divine grace, I live pretty luxuriously but in a reclusive manner. To be purposeful, I author Sanatana Dharma-based books and serve as a spiritual mentor for those who look up to me.
