These SD Library works are edited yet faithful translations of Hindu scriptures. These are presented in a modern literary format while preserving the original flavor. To this end, passages interrupting the natural flow of thought or showing signs of later interpolations have been carefully omitted to maintain clarity and cadence.
These refined versions do not substitute the scripture itself but are reader-friendly translations. The essence and meaning, however, remain true to the indigenous spirit — unveiling profound spiritual wisdom as the ancient seers might have experienced it.
The Tradition of Dakshina
There is a scriptural injunction regarding Dakshina — a gesture of gratitude offered when receiving Sadhana or Vedic wisdom. I rarely follow tradition without reflection, so if I have chosen to uphold this one, it is with purpose.
This offering is not about monetary exchange, per se — it’s about honoring the words of the ancient sages.
In truth, Dakshina serves the receiver more than the giver. Without this act of offering, a subtle karmic debt may remain — an imbalance of karma that can quietly slow the receiver’s spiritual progress.
In reverence for this meaningful tradition, I am sharing the link below:
