When I first started learning music from my father, I was as small as in the featured image!
Actually, correcting myself, my dad might have started teaching me music while I was still in my mother’s womb. He enrolled me in Carnatic vocal music lessons while I was in kindergarten. I studied music for over 12 years and was admitted into TVG AIMA. At one point, a famous person even asked me whether I would do playback singing in Tamil films, but I declined.
Music was my father’s passion, not mine. I gave up singing for about 20 years before returning as a hobbyist vocalist. While I find purpose in writing, I occasionally share my singing to inspire my son, who has inherited his grandfather’s interest in music. You can see some of my karaoke performances on Instagram.
